The Higher Degree Conferring Ceremony will take place in RCSI, 123 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

The following degrees and awards will be presented:

  • Degree of Master of Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • Degree of Master of Science (MSc) in Physician Associate Studies
  • Degree of Master of Science (MSc)
  • Degree of Master of Surgery (MCh) by Research
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Academic dress

All graduates must pre-book robes with the official robe-makers, Phelan Conan Limited before midnight Sunday, 24 May 2026. Robes can be pre-booked online. The pre-paid hire fee is €45. Robe collection time and location is listed below.

Should you miss the deadline to pre book on line you can still hire your robe at the venue and collect at the time listed below, the hire fee for non-booked robes is €50 and this can be paid by scanning our QR code when collecting robe.

Robes can be collected from 10.30am on the day of your graduation in TR 1-3, RCSI Dublin. 

Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process, Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.

Cash will not be accepted. All gowns must be returned to Phelan Conan as soon as possible after the conclusion of the ceremony.

Photography

Lafayette Photographers will be located on site throughout the Higher Degree Conferring to take professional individual and family portraits. Please visit their website to pre-book. Pre-booking is highly recommended for your photography session.

Please note: the online booking facilities for Phelan Conan and Lafayette will open in the coming months.

Order of proceedings

Graduands are invited to register 90 minutes prior to their conferring ceremony. At registration, graduands will be provided with a seat number which signifies the order in which they will be called to the platform.

Graduands and guests are asked to take their seats no later than 30 minutes prior to the ceremony commences.

Guest tickets

Each graduand will receive two guest tickets.

If capacity permits, graduands will be permitted to request additional ticket(s) when registering online for the conferring in April 2026. Extra tickets will be allocated to those on the waiting list, subject to availability, once all graduands have completed registration. Please note, confirmation may not be available on extra ticket requests until the week prior to the event.

Live stream

A live stream of the conferring ceremony will be available for friends and family to watch around the world. The stream will be available on the RCSI Dublin homepage and will begin at 12 noon (Irish Standard Time).
