SWaT is led by an internationally recognised team of researchers, clinicians, educators and research professionals who deliver world-class research and innovation.

The Centre was founded by Professor Zena Moore, an internationally-recognised leader in wound care research, former President of the European Wound Management Association, Chair of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel and recipient of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies Lifetime Achievement Award.

Our leadership team contributes extensively to national and international professional organisations, editorial boards, guideline groups, ethics committees and funding panels. SWaT researchers hold senior positions in major healthcare and research organisations, helping shape policy, research priorities and standards for clinical practice across Europe and beyond. This strong leadership infrastructure is supported by experienced project management professionals who oversee complex programmes involving academic, clinical, industry and regulatory stakeholders, ensuring efficient delivery, governance, compliance and impact.
